Sugarfree will have its first major concert with the Manila Symphony Orchestra on September 29 at the Music Museum to celebrate their 8th anniversary in the music industry.
Sugarfree is composed of three members, Ebe Dancel, Jal Taguibao and Kaka Quisumbing and they team up again with the 33-piece Manila Symphony Orchestra for their first major concert of the year dubbed as Sugarfree Live!.

Lea Salonga Stars in Cinderella
Tony Award Winner Lea Salonga will play the role of "Cinderella" which will definitely be the biggest musical production in the Philippines.
According to producer Marc Routh "Cinderella" will cost about US $ 2 million to produce.
The Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella will be directed by Aliw award winner Bobby Garcia and is produced by Broadway Asia Entertainment, with Marc Routh as Chief Operating Officer and will be shown for several weeks at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), Manila.
Marc Routh said "Cinderella" will also have its Asian tour and may also hire other Filipino talents to join the band.

Christian Bautista apologized for Missing Lyrics of National Anthem
Christian Bautista apologized immediately after committing mistake in when singing the Philippine National Anthem in an exhibition match of bantamweight champion Gerry PeƱalosa and NABF bantamweight champion Bernabe Concepcion at the Metropolis Mall in Alabang last Sunday.

Luciano Pavarotti Dies at the Age of 71
Italian opera star Luciano Pavarotti,the known King of High Cs dies at the age of 71 at 5 a.m.
In July 2006, the Italian tenor was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was required of emergency surgery to remove the tumor which he was reported "recovering well after the surgery.
On August 9, 2007, Pavarotti was hospitalized in his hometown of Modena, in Northern Italy, for observation. According to reports he was hospitalized due to pneumonia.
He planned to return to recording his "sacred songs" and teaching his young pupils, according to reports but on August 21, it was announced that he was being treated in the cancer ward, given tests related to his pancreatic cancer, and would not be released for another few days.
Early morning of September 6, Thursday, Luciano Pavarotti died at the age of 71 with his wife and four daughters around him.
In an email statement, his manager wrote, "The Maestro fought a long, tough battle against the pancreatic cancer which eventually took his life. In fitting with the approach that characterized his life and work, he remained positive until finally succumbing to the last stages of his illness."

Judy Ann's "20 Years, Album ng Buhay Ko."
Actress and soon to be Chef Judy Ann Santos will again release another album from Star Records titled "20 Years, Album ng Buhay Ko."
Ryan Agoncillo, Juday's boyfriend was her official photographer for her album cover for the reason that she is more comfortable with him and she trusts Ryan's judgment and taste.
Juday's solo album features guest artists like Zsa Zsa Padilla, Gary Valenciano, Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid.

Mau Marcelo Shines on her Debut Album
The first Philippine Idol launched her debut album entitled I Shine For You, under Sony-BMG Music Entertainment.
Maureen Marcelo is from Lucena City. She had competed numerous singing contests which includes Star For a Night where Sarah Geronimo won as the grand champion.
Mau didn’t give up on her dream and pursue her love for singing. Then, her time come to shine as the first Philippine Idol.
Her album I Shine For You is composed of 11 tracks specially chosen by the Sony BMG for her. This includes songs composed by Vehnee Saturno, “Sino Ba Naman Ako” and “Labis Labis” plus "Try Love", "Keep On Tryin" and "Hangga't Kaya Ko Pa." She also interpreted “Minsan Lang Kitang Iibigin”, an Ariel Rivera classic and “Love Takes Time” by Mariah Carey. Her album also include a remix version of I Shine For You and her winning piece in Philippine Idol, “On My Own.”
The title track "I Shine For You " best illustrate Mau's great effort as well as her way of saying thank you to all the people who believed and supported her throughout her battle.
Mau Marcelo will represent the country in the Asian Idol as the winner of Philippine Idol this November in Indonesia.

Kamikazee Takes Five Trophies on Awit Awards

In the 20th Awit Awards held at the NBC Tent in The Fort, Makati, Kamikazee rocked the event and went home with 5 trophies.
With lead singer Jay Contreras who often delights the crowd with his stage antics said, “Salamat sa lahat ng may tainga. Salamat sa lahat ng mga Pilipino… at Pilipina”. Jay rolled himself while performing before a crowd at Awit stage and showered beer.
The group received the Song of the Year award for the huge hit Narda and Album of the Year for the rock album Maharot. Also, Best Performance by a Group Recording Artist and Best Rock for Narda and Music Video of the Year for Martyr Nyebera

Beyonce Knowles' Fall Video Pulled by Sony BMG

Video footage of Beyonce's fall is being pulled by Sony BMG citing copyright infringement as their reason.
Beyonce Knowles, while singing her hit "Ring the Alarm",wearing a trench coat and high heels, had lost her balance and slid down from a number of steps on stage.
The 25-year old singer got up right away and acted like nothing happened.
"I don't think she missed a word of the song. Everyone started cheering her on, because she recovered like a real professional" said one of the concert goer.
Knowles did not sustain any injuries after the fall.
She jokingly asked the crowd not to circulate her video on Youtube. But the next day, it's all over the web.

Joey Albert: Tell Me Once More

Long before Regine & Ogie's Singer and The Songwriter tandem, there once was Joey Albert and Louie Ocampo's singer-composer tandem.
Joey Albert, the singer behind the big hit “Tell Me” is now a preschool teacher in Canada.
Louie Ocampo on the other hand is a composer-arranger known for his numerous hits, including Tell Me and Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin which he wrote for Joey Albert.
Louie was Joey’s musical director for four years. He said, they can understand each other without talking.
According to Albert, their common love for music made their partnership click.
Albert is now in Manila for a show with Louie Ocampo entitled “Tell Me Once More” set on August 3 and 4 at the Music Museum. For this visit, Joey will stay here in the Philippines for three weeks.
