Father Giancarlo Bossi Released by Abductors

Father Giancarlo Bossi, an Italian Priest was abducted last June 10 from the Village of Bulawa on his way to church.

Father Bossi was second to Father Giuseppe Pierantoni (2001) being kidnapped in the same region recently.

Early this morning, abductors released Bossi without ransom in Lanao del Norte where he was seized and after his recovery, the authorities took him to a military camp in Zamboanga City.

In his interview, Father Bossi plans to meet his parishioners before heading back to Italy. He also said that his captors have treated him nicely only the food wasn’t great, they eat kamote (sweet potato) and sardines and sometimes only salt and rice. It shows in his shape that he lost a lot of weight while he was under captivity.

Father Bossi’s mother, who has an Alzheimer, celebrated her 87th birthday yesterday and according to him, it was he who was able to receive a birthday gift from his mom, and that was his freedom.
