Gerry Peñalosa won the WBO bantamweight crown against Jhonny Gonzales of Mexico at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, California.
It’s a David and Goliath fight where Peñalosa, 35, leads on the first three rounds and struggles the last two rounds but ends the fight in Round 7 with a left hook at Gonzalez’ ribcage.
Gerry won the fifth crown for the Team Philippines at the World Cup.
